Academic Programs

The Department of Computational and Data Sciences offers three graduate degree programs and three graduate certificate programs. All of these programs offer flexible learning environments for those seeking to extend their undergraduate educations. Classes are generally scheduled in the late afternoon or early evening to accommodate the schedules of busy professionals.

The Computational Sciences and Informatics PhD program provides many exciting opportunities for students to conduct cutting-edge research in interdisciplinary fields that combine fundamental scientific concepts with advanced computational techniques and algorithms.

The Computational Social Science PhD program focuses on the usage of computational methodologies to study the emergence of structure in social, political, and economic organizations based on human interactions.

The Computational Science MS program addresses the growing national and regional demand for trained computational scientists by combining a solid foundation in information technology skills with computational courses in a variety of scientific areas.

The Graduate Certificate in Computational Social Science introduces students to the fundamental concepts and alogorithms used to study the emergence of structure in human organizations.

The Graduate Certificate in Computational Techniques and Applications affords students an opportunity to improve their basic computational skills, and is designed primarily for technical professionals.

The Graduate Certificate in Nanotechnology and Nanoscience address the need for qualified professionals in these critical areas by focusing on the structure, characteristics, and production of nanomaterials and nanostructures, and their relation to bulk materials.
