Current Research Interests

All aspects of field solvers based on unstructured grids for compressible and incompressible flows, electromagnetic and acoustic wave propagation, heat and mass transfer and fluid-structure interaction: pre-processing (handling large dirty-CAD data sets, error-free setup of complex geometries, minimal input computing), solvers (high resolution schemes, optimal combination of schemes, preconditioners, adjoints), efficient use of supercomputing hardware (parallel computing, field solvers on graphic cards) , post-processing (optimal ways of seeing, data reduction, data mining), as well as optimal shape and process design. Strategic application areas include: blast-structure interaction, dispersion in urban areas, free-surface hydrodynamics, haemodynamics (bloodflow) and optimal shape and process design.
