2006 AMS Meisinger Award

January, 2006, Atlanta, GA: Dr. Paul Dirmeyer, Adjunct Professor in the Climate Dynamics Program at George Mason University and Research Scientist at the Center for Ocean-Land-Atmosphere Studies (COLA), received the 2006 Clarence Leroy Meisinger Award of the American Meteorological Society.

The award to Dirmeyer was "For improved understanding of the role of soil moisture in land - atmospheric coupling, climate variability and climate predictability, and for leadership in GEWEX land modeling activities."
